Register your domain name now – protect your name
Domain names are being snapped up by the hundreds of thousands every week it’s easy to lose the one you wanted to another party. And the other party may even be a competitor!
A large number of the new registrations are what could be termed “legitimate commercial registrations”. However many of these new registrations are the actions of opportunists with an eye to the future.
We urge you to register your domain name NOW. Don’t risk finding yourself blocked or held to ransom by an opportunist or competitor at some future date. Remember domain name registration is almost as important as your business name registration.
We are an authorised Reseller for several of the oldest, largest and most respected domain name Registrars in Australia. They hold significant security deposits we placed in their hands. These Registrars have authorised us to register domain names on behalf of our clients and other parties such as yourself.
Nambucca Graphics helps you avoid the many pitfalls in domain selection and registration. You also avoid the confusing red tape associated with registrations, delegations, renewals and other technical matters.
What Does Domain Name Registration Cost?
Most domain names cost around $40 Australian dollars per year plus GST. Some types of domain names are renewable each year whilst others have a two year renewal cycle. However the costs are reasonably similar when expressed in annual terms.
Choosing a Domain Name
Choose a domain name which is short as possible, easy to spell and easy to say on the phone without the need to spell it out. Furthermore, always remember that small website addresses are good addresses: less likely to be miskeyed in a browser, easier to print on a business card… and many other similar practical reasons.
Which domain name ending should I choose?
If you are doing the majority of your business in Australia choose a .com.au suffix because this will have the best search engine implications in your case. Similarly, if your business is mainly in New Zealand then choose a domain name ending in .co.nz.
If your business has a large international component then domain names with extensions of .com or .net or .biz or .info may be more appropriate alternatives. That is a good and helpful thing. Short addresses are good addresses.
Don’t shoot from the hip. Discuss your preferred domain name with us first and then ask us to handle the registration and other red tape matters on your behalf. This way you’ll avoid some significant traps and pitfalls.

We do urge you to secure your preferred domain name as a matter of some urgency. You don’t have to actually use it now but you need to protect your future.
